David Bridgeman

Born in Oxford, England and later moving to the Caribbean in 1987 to teach in government schools, David Bridgeman has had an unconventional start as an artist. Graduating with a degree in Education and Biological Science, he later went on to study with artists from London, England, Trinidad and Grand Cayman Island (where he now calls home) to hone his craft.

Inspired by his battle with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma - a disease he struggled with for many years as a teenager - along with his love for the scientific process, David’s work is known for its use of whimsical, abstract forms and the contrast in his colour palette, creating paintings with darker, more muted colours to works with bolder, brighter hues while using a variety of materials and mediums.

Over the years, he has found great success within the Cayman Islands and internationally, having shows in London, England, Scotland and the Dominican Republic. Most recently, David’s art was commissioned by the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
